Justice Cheri Beasley wins recount in N.C. Supreme Court race

Incumbent Supreme Court Justice Cheri Beasley has won a recount for her high court seat. Challenger Mike Robinson has 24 hours to request another recount. Of the four Supreme Court races on this year's ballot, Beasley's saw the second-highest outside money total, at nearly $434,000. Most of that total came from Justice for All NC, which was funded primarily by the Republican State Leadership Committee, in the form of TV ads supporting Mike Robinson. 99 percent of the outside money spent in this race favored Robinson, but Beasley won by just over 5,000 votes. 

In total, $9.1 million of outside money was spent on state-level races in the 2013-14 election cycle, with 20 percent going towards Supreme Court and Court of Appeals races.
